Three Ring binding with orange-brown vinyl covers. A Total of 147 early 20th century postcards. They include Christmas, Easter, Birthday, Valentines, New Year's, thanksgiving. Many are embossed with gold pumpkins, pilgrims, dogs, windmills. There are also a section of postcards with animals, mostly cats in humanlike scenarios plus a section of Felix the Cat, and Mickey Mouse. These cards are in great condition, in protective plastic holders, 4 to a page, sometimes on both sides. A must for a serious postcard collector.

The bindings are only fair, there is wear along the fore-edges and the bottom edges. the corners of the covers are worn, the spines are faded, and there are no endpapers in volume four. The illustrations and text are in near fine condition, some of the issues have been cropped affecting some text on the covers, but never into an illustration and never affecting the pages inside. The bindings are sound. Many of the illustrations are in color, and the colors are vibrant.

vi, [7]-80p., 5 photographic reprints of title page on leaves. A fine rebound copy, into which the former owner had bound 5 leaves which show the title pages of five of the imprints. In two cases we have fairly modern photographic reprints, in three cases the reprints are hard-to-see. In any case I believe there were no illustrations in the original, as LC cites none. This copy is one of 200 which were reprinted from the proceedings of the American Antiquarian Spciety. October, 1895. Two minor imperfections are a darkening of part of page 50 from the photographic reproduction opposite and the former owner's bookplate on the front paste-down endpaper.
