Disbound Pamphlet. Only Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [vii], 124, [3]p.; plus [1]p. advts. A very good copy, the leaves are slightly cockled and slightly dampstained; else a clean, crisp and wide-margined copy. Mettler considers this an "interesting" work and, on account of Musgrave's remarks on pneumonia, assigns it a place in the Background of early American medicine. (395/2.) Dr. Musgrave (1732-1780) was a learned and industrious physician and classical scholar, and a chronic meddler in politics; probably the last of these pursuits denied him the rewards he deserved from the first two. His inaugeral dissertation at Leiden was an Apologia pro Medicina Empirica, 1763; he wrote also some Remarks on Boerhaave's Theory of the Attrition of the Blood in the Lungs, 1759. (DNB 13.1320-1.)
