Three-quarter Cloth. Elephant Folio - over 15" - 23" tall. Not continuously paged, but very thick. A very good copy, the cloth part of the binding is somewhat dust soiled, the fore-edges and bottom edges of the pages are a little waterstained, but very little staining appears on the pages, the first page of the first paper has some minor tears near the gutter, and the pages are slightly browned. The are only issues for December 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, but there are multiple issues for each date. The December 23 paper has seven issues titled: PEACH, Race Special, 7 Star, Cambridge-Somerville, Sunset, Sport Flash--Race Entries, and the Racing Night Final. The number of editions explain the thickness of the volume and also give great insight into newspaper production at the time. The Boston American was a tabloid and thus has sensational headlines and photographs.
